Mass Humanities supports reading and discussion programs in public libraries and other venues; applicants may apply for a grant to cover honoraria for scholar-facilitators. Applicants develop their own themes and reading lists and procure their own books.

• Any Massachusetts public library or other non-profit organization may apply.
• Grant covers scholar honoraria only.
• Scholar-facilitators must be confirmed at the time of application.
• Applicants may request a maximum of $1,000.
• Applicant can ensure a minimum of 20 participants.
• Mass Humanities now accepts applications online only.

Applications may be submitted online any time.  Notification is about  two weeks after submission of the application.

Grantees receiving grants after August 1, 2011, are filing their reports in the online application system.
Required reports are assigned to you. Log on to complete your reports.
Grantees receiving grants prior to August 1, 2011, must submit their reports via the mail system or email.
